LRFS
WHAT IS LRFS?
LRFS is the largest student-led charity event hosted at the University of Leeds, providing an opportunity for creative collaboration alongside huge fundraising for charity.
LRFS continues to be one of the most highly anticipated community-driven shows in the University of Leeds social calendar, picking up the award for Event of the Year at the National Student Fundraising Awards (NaSFA) in 2018, and Best Event at LUU multiple times since 2008. Combining fashion, originality and innovation to shed light on important causes, LRFS aims to spark creativity and emphasise fashion and community as a force for social change.
This year we raised just under £24,000 for our chosen charities, Stop Hate UK and The Racial Justice Network.

Established in 1995, Stop Hate UK is one of the UK's leading organisations in combatting discrimination and hate crimes across the UK. By offering an accessible service in the form of their national helpline, Stop Hate UK supports victims and witnesses of all forms of hate crime, including discrimination due to race, gender, sexual orientation and religion. Donations towards Stop Hate UK fund their 24/7 helpline and allow them to run educational training and awareness services. These include ‘Racism and Responses in Education’ courses, which are offered to academic institutions, as well as a multitude of other courses for the workplace environment, emergency services and rehabilitation centres. Their helpline offers confidential reporting, support, guidance and tailored advice to victims, witnesses and third-party individuals. This vital service, alongside educational courses, further educates and supports the wider community in tackling discrimination of any kind.
CHARITIES
Racial Justice Network is a West-Yorkshire-based charity who proactively fight against racial injustice. Through participation in pastoral work, activism and campaigns, the charity aims to be the catalysts of anti-racism conversations on both a local and national basis. As the North has a disproportionately white population, we believe supporting a local anti-racism charity will help to educate white individuals on supporting the minority communities.
Funds raised by donations to Racial Justice Network allow them to create impactful educational resources such as their ‘Unlearning Racism’ course that is targeted to individuals who are on a low income, have student status or are white and live in the north of the UK. They also offer bespoke training to institutions surrounding issues such as race, migration, campaigning and radicalisation, with a breadth of experts working to inform the public through seminars and live discussions.

SPONSORS
To reach our fundraising goal for these charities, LRFS depends greatly on our generous sponsors. Without sponsorship, we would not be able to fund the show and spark creativity and diversity within the curriculum and the city of Leeds.
A huge thank you to all those who have sponsored and supported our show this year. It's not too late to donate to continue to help us, and make sure to check back next year to sponsor LRFS 23!
