The 14th annual Leeds RAG Fashion Show has just under a month until its opening night! Ahead of the official ticket release, we take a look at what's in store for this year's show!
If you haven't yet heard of it, Leeds RAG Fashion Show (LRFS) is the largest student-led charity event hosted at the University of Leeds, providing an opportunity for creative collaboration alongside huge fundraising for charity. It continues to be one of the most highly anticipated shows in the university's social calendar, picking up the award for Event of the Year at the National Student Fundraising Awards (NaSFA) in 2018, and Best Event at LUU multiple times since 2008.
Combining fashion, innovation and sustainability to shed light on important causes, this year’s show IGNITE is sure to be a night to remember. With five interactive, unique performance scenes, expect a vibrant spectacle highlighting fashion and community as a force for social change, all whilst centring diversity and sustainability.
With a dedicated committee of over 50 student volunteers, as well as a diverse array of models, work has been taking place for months to prepare for the event. So far, popular fundraisers in the run-up to the show have included the official LRFS x Good Life Launch Party at Belgrave Music Hall, a Drink & Draw session, a film screening of Sitting Idle (sponsored by Propercorn), and a Christmas Market.
Tieing in with the meaning behind this year's show, all funds raised are going to chosen charities Stop Hate UK and the Racial Justice Network. These two Yorkshire-based charities have a national reach, meaning all money raised can have a far-reaching impact both at home and further away. The show will take place on the 25th and 26th of February in The Refectory, with both VIP and standard options available. Expect to be inspired, educated and empowered by the wonderful work of all involved. Tickets are set to be released this coming week and are sure to go fast, make sure to grab yours quick!
