With Christmas right around the corner, it's time to start thinking about presents. This week, Sustainability Saturdays is bringing you the lowdown on the wonderful sustainable fashion brands that the LRFS team are crushing on.
House of Sunny - From £39
House of Sunny is one of the best sustainable fashion brands going, actively fighting against fast fashion and creating beautiful garments in the process. They've thought of everything, from ethically sourced fabrics to eco-friendly logistical solutions. If you're looking to treat a loved one, or yourself, to some fashion with a conscience, House of Sunny is the place to go. It's easy to see why a jumpsuit like this or these wavy trousers are really something special. Plus, order before 1st December and House of Sunny will plant one tree per item you purchase!
Broken Planet Market - From £20
If you're playing Secret Santa to someone who loves streetwear, buying from Broken Planet Market is a sure-fire way to get them something groovy and unique, while making a good choice for the planet. Selling hoodies, sweatshirts, t-shirts, and tote bags emblazoned with some seriously cool prints, Broken Planet Market has made a pledge to a razor-sharp aesthetic as well as to the welfare of its manufacturers and the planet. PETA certified and using only organic cotton, it's sustainability policy is as transparent as their garms are cool. Keep checking the site to be in with a chance of catching their latest drop.
Patagonia - From £20
Pretty much everyone has heard of Patagonia and it's no surprise why. This brand are doing the most for lovers of the great outdoors, providing the perfect outfits to wear on a hike whilst also protecting your favourite spots of natural beauty. Patagonia actively uses its voice to combat climate change as well as using around 68% recycled materials in its products. From its workers to the planet, Patagonia considers it all, without skimping on style or quality.
TALA - From £15
You know how much we love TALA here at LRFS - we're even hosting a talk with Verity Park who helped to conceptualise and launch the brand on 2nd December (a few tickets are still available here). There's a reason for this: TALA is one of the first sustainable gym wear brands on the market, effortlessly blending functionality, style, and sustainability. For the gym bunny in your life, a gift from TALA is not only highly coveted, but also kind to the planet. Championing a slower-paced approach to fashion, and inclusivity as a brand, we can't see a downside to purchasing one of their incredibly cool sports bras or these lush leggings.
Lucy & Yak - From £2.50
Lucy & Yak is one of the coolest sustainable brands going, and perfect for prezzies for those people who love to play with colour and print. As a dungaree lover myself, their choice of fun and fashionable unisex all-in-ones are enough to set my heart racing. But their transparent attitude to sustainability? That's the real star attraction. Their site is one of the most comprehensive I've ever seen in outlining their commitments, not just to incredible fashion, but to the planet, the people, a fair living wage, and anti-racism. This is a brand with a heart!
Make someone's Christmas this year with a gift from any one of these fantastic brands. And, give a gift to yourself, knowing that you've supported a force for positive change in the world.
